The Smurfs Dream at Sea

The Smurfs Dream at Sea is a Smurfs-themed cruise experience for families to enjoy. I created animated backdrops for a live Smurfs stage show. This involved making holding screens, animated segments and motion design for musical sequences.

For this work, I used Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and Adobe Animate

This is a frame-by-frame animation of The Smurfs boarding the ship. It depicts their unique traits as Smurfs such as leadership, excitement, preparedness and clumsiness.

As part of the show, there are musical sequences that require animation. They are used to compliment and accompany the stage performance from the actors.

In addition to the musical performances, there is a meter used to measure the audiences excitement. In this example, the 'Smurf-o-meter' breaks and spins out of control. This is a separate element that needed to be timed to the sound effects and dialogue.
